For over 25 years, Babjee Lights has been a name synonymous with authenticity, quality, and integrity in Karachi’s electrical retail industry. Founded with a deep-rooted commitment to excellence, the brand has stood the test of time, ensuring that customers receive only genuine and reliable electrical solutions.
The journey of Babjee Lights is a testament to the vision and determination of Zoeb Sheikh Ali Khambaty, a man who migrated from India during the Partition, carrying with him a dream for a better future. After starting his career as a junior accountant in a bank, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Salma Toys, a small but thriving toy shop in the heart of Saddar. For years, the shop provided for the family until the land was acquired for redevelopment
With an unwavering belief in his son, Saifuddin Khambaty, Zoeb Sheikh Ali envisioned a new path—one that would establish the family’s name in a different industry. He once told his son:
“You will become the king of Electric in Tauheed”
With these words as a guiding force, father and son set out to build something enduring, something that would define their family’s legacy

The Foundation of Babjee Lights
In the early 2000s, they founded Babjee Lights in the emerging Tauheed Commercial Area, DHA Phase 5. From the outset, the mission was clear—to stand against the rising tide of counterfeit electrical products by offering only authentic, high-quality solutions. This unwavering commitment to integrity led to the creation of the brand’s core philosophy:
“Trust Forever”
Over time, Babjee Lights became the go-to destination for corporate clients, contractors, business owners, and homeowners, offering a vast range of products, including:

A Bold Expansion – The Birth of Babjee Decor
In 2007 or 2009, Saifuddin Khambaty made a bold decision—to purchase another shop. While many advised him to rent out the space for easy income, he chose a different path: to expand the family’s footprint in the electrical retail industry.
Thus, Babjee Decor was born—an exclusive store dedicated to premium and decorative lighting solutions. Today, Babjee Decor is successfully managed by his eldest son, Abdul Qadir Khambaty, who brings both experience and expertise, having earned an MBA to further strengthen the business operations. Under his leadership, the brand continues to thrive, upholding the same values of trust, authenticity, and customer satisfaction.
A Legacy That Lives On
In 2012, Zoeb Sheikh Ali Khambaty passed away at the age of 92, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire. His values of hard work, honesty, and an unwavering commitment to quality remain at the heart of Babjee Lights today.
